I am totally game...and it might attract a couple of more artists.
Yes I would be willing to pay a small fee.
No not interested.
I'm thinking about opening a private lesson section of the forum that will offer private lessons with certain artist. My thinking is these artist spend alot of time helping out and they should be compensated for their time so there will be a small fee to access that area for private lessons.
**100% of the fee will go directly to the artist, 100%.
The only ones who will have access to those areas will be the instructor/artist and their students. Sort of a college of airbrushing On-line if you will.
Your thoughts please.
Would you be willing to pay a small fee for a service like this?
I am totally game...and it might attract a couple of more artists.
WOW, totally would be interested!!!

Sounds like a very valid idea.
I too have a question about payments. Will this be achieved from a mail-in payment or is it going to be an online deal?
You could be on a great future venture don.
Sounds like a great idea to me. Let us know how much and how to make payment.
Waycool
how much and are there going to be videos and what kind of question we should ask
Thanks for the replies.
I think for anyone serious about learning to airbrush this will be a great program.
Some points to make clear:
This is something I'm studing its not going to happen tommorow by any means but like your feedback as to how much interest there is.
The artist receives 100% of the fee I will provide the forum free of charge to the instructor.
It will be open to anyone who subscribes to one or both the magazines and is meant to supplement in a more one on one personal fashion what the magazines do with our instructional articles.
It will be structured with lesson plans drawn up by the instructor.
It will eventually cover all aspects of airbrushing with different artists covering different aspects.
I’m willing to work with artist on including video as part of a lesson plan or a web camera. This I think is a bit down the road but a goal of the program.
Fee amount and payment method and how often it will be due is up to the instructor as payment will be made directly to the instructor.
I have two artist very much in mind for this already and hope to have more as the program grows.
Any artist interested in becoming an instructor please contact me airheadairbrush@aol.com to discuss it.
I am willing to help the instructors put together professional looking lesson plans...they send me the material, I will compile it for them.
Don- Check your mail
What a great idea! I would've signed up for something like that in 2 seconds when I was first starting out. I think it's definitely worth pursuing, although IMO you're entitled to SOME of the fee, since it's your concept & your bandwidth...![]()
Don, we have some fantastic artists here that already share a great deal of their precious time, to the point that some form of compensation should be offered, this I see as perfectly fair.
In the same vein that we purchase lessons or videos from other artists.
Any help, information, reference or even lesson can only be a good thing and certainly more than welcomed by me.

I think it's a great idea! I just went to a class that cost over 60 dollars for a one time session. Probably great for someone that had never seen an airbrush before but not much help for me - It was my fault as I didn't ask questions before I went.

You are only limited by your own imagination ...
I too think it's a great idea . I would be greatful for the chance to learn even more from some of the fantastic artist I have seen in this forum . And some compensation for that knowledge is not too much to ask ! And a one on one type lesson ,,,,, wow !!!!!!!!!!! how much better can it get other than being there in person !
The concept is a great one, but before anyone could consider more, the artist would be needed, and what they will be teaching. And will the fee be PER artist? Will you be creating separate forum sections per artist? Very interesting concept. The success in this adventure will be in the details.
Am there, I need all the help i can get.
Count me in as well Don in this biz the more help you can get the better especially if its the quality help you and your fellow artists give. My only concern on the subject is the form of payment if it can be online, maybe you can come up with something where, if need be, we pay you like we do when we subscribe, then you get the money to the artist? Well its just an idea wouldn't want to miss this!!
I personally don't think that is the short end of the stick. I am sure that we can get these artists to setup paypal accounts for us to pay them...that would be the best way...
The part that concerns me is finding an artist who can committ to being at a certain place or time and not overwhelming them. Lets face it. Taking time to give critical advice and explain How-to is very time consuming and most people just don't have that time. I mean they need to come up with some sort of book to work from...then from there, they need to be able to give assignments...and then they need to be able to check your work and try to figure out a way to rephrase something so you can understand. I mean at a minimum, we are talking about 10-15 minutes per student coming up with the assignment and posting it (if they don't have to look for it)...Then another 10-15 minutes per student critiquing small sections (that is if the homework is limited)...and then another 10 minutes to type everything in and connection speeds...so at best, 30-45 minutes per student per lesson...and that doesn't include our endless questions... That is my only concern...
I think that is a great idea.

I really think this is a really great idea Don. I've always taught the little neices and nephews and the kids in the neighborhood. Learning something new from experienced and talented and yet objective and honest artists is always worth paying for. I would do it in a second.
Sounds great! count me in.
So do we have any instructors stepping up???
I would without a shadow of adoubt subscribe to the idea brill, carn't wait.![]()
Soo ,when do you intend to give private lessons
