    Default Airbrush Class, Hollywood Style

I will be teaching an airbrush class in Hollywood, California on July 31, 2010.
This is an all day class that takes you from never having used an airbrush to an intermediate level of skills and concepts. We cover everything from how an airbrush works, to disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly. You will learn all the basics in airbrushing, the use and construction of stencils and masks, and tackle a project of your own. All tools and materials are supplied, however if you have your own brush we suggest that you bring them with you so that you can fine tune or gain your skills on a brush you will use in your future. This is a hardcore, hands on day of learning. The class size is very limited!
There is no sales pitch to buy paint or a particular brand or model of airbrush, this is strictly a learning environment.

The shop didn't do much to promote it other than via the internet so they didn't have anyone signed up, and because of that they canceled the class.
    Oh well.

I think a big portion of the problem is the cost for people, there just isn't that much cash sitting around to spend. While this class would take people from never having airbrushed before to a point where they could do shirts and intermediate stuff, my preference is people who have had their airbrush for a month or two and who aren't afraid of it, but who have decided they really want to learn. They tend to pay close attention and do the stuff without goofing off. The basic drills tend to put people in a haze of boredom, but there is no getting past the need to conquer those skills.
Fan, if there were enough students in the area who wanted to learn and were willing to pay for it I'd do one in your area. In fact If you supplied the location you would get the class/lessons for free, but it means you need 10 or so students who all have the money and the time, and are willing to pay and participate. My earnings would just about pay for my flight to and from, when you include the charges the airlines would get me for for shipping the equipment to and from.

Man that,s a real bummer, it,s a pity that there was no promotion by the shop. Are there any plans to try again ? or is it a case of once bitten twice shy.

They may try it again, from my end of things, if there are people who want to learn I am willing to teach.
