Default Sad Day In Music History

Well I know there are a few of you on here that are musicians as well. Just found out that Les Paul died this morning at the age of 94. I have been playing the guitar for 25 years now and have always owned a gibson les paul since the second guitar I ever purchased. A great legend and creator of an outstanding guitar. He will be missed but never forgotten.Just thought I would share.

You know when I was working at Titan MC here in AZ, we did a bike with a Fender guitar theme and it came out pretty cool. Fender asked us to bring the bike to a big shindig in L.A., Cali called the NAMM show.
Didnt know what it was, didn't know what was involved, didn't know what to expect. Well it was pretty much a playground for anybody involved in the music industry. Every kind of music type was there, producers, singers, guitar players from all walks of life, every kind of rockstar you could think of, and also makers and originators of most of the top of the line instruments and well known instruments in the world.
We were sitting at the Fender guitar booth and these people came up and were just kinda lookin' around, mostly a bunch of older people that to me were not recognizable, regular people.
Then next thing you know it all these people were comin' around talkin to these people, mainly to this little old man and they started taking pics with him and shaking his hand and makin' a big deal. So I had to finally ask "Who the hell is that?" It was Les Paul himself. I'm sorry but I drew a blank at first and then put 2 and 2 together. I felt like a dumbass because he was askin' us questions about the motorcycle display, and I shook his hand and gladly told him what was up, never knowin' who he was until I was told and he was walkin' away. I wish I would have at least tried to get a pic but it was pretty much to late after havin' the mind fart.

Never owned a Les Paul, but I owned a Gibson SG and a Flying V. Great guitars. I pretty much do the open tuning slide on resonators and play
banjo and harp. He will be missed. Along with Leo Fender, the origonal
Rickenbacker, Chet Atkins, and Gretsch Guitars too. You know all this
wild stuff made today that is over priced and no quality. There really
isn't hardly anyone that innovated stuff like all the above names. If it
wasn't for the above names there would be no blues, rock, country,
you name it. Rest in Peace Leo, Chet and Les, and Rickenbaker.
