    guess i made a bad buy,,bought a desk/plotter from a guy here in sweden
he had no time for airbrush anymore his working as an tatto artist now,,
i haven't used vinylcutters or know that much about them,,so i asked if he had drivers and such to it ,, you need to download coreldraw,,,
okay that can't be to hard i thought,,,,and i needed a licens number to get it to work
i will email it to you with some more info he said,,,,so i gave him the money
and drove home 3,5hours drive,,,downloaded a trial of coreldraw x3
thought i could try it out....
got the e-mail with a licensnumber,,,, register the licens and then download
coreldraw and start cutting,,,it said....have no clue what licens that is
    and where to add it,,,
on the CD i got it said use Signcutx2 there was no programs on the CD so now i need 2 programs
    signcut x2 and coreldraw
e-maild the guy but no reply,,i think i will wait untill my vacation is over and talk to some co workers some of them know guys who
have copies of allkind of programs and stuff,,,i know it's illegal but what to do
they are quite expensive here..maybe should have looked that up first

there wasn't that much money involved few $100(in US,currency)
the machine is working, pushed some buttons and it cutout a test vinyl.but without programs is kind of useless,,

If you haven't yet, google the make and model number of the machine. The manufacture may provide a program for download. I don't know much about these but I have seen this program posted on some forums as a free vectoring program. Inkscape. Draw Freely.
I believe there is going to be a learning curve on creating the vectors and from what I have read, it can take several hours to vector a picture. Good luck and if you want, email me the info on the plotter, I will see what I can find some info if you don't have time to google the day away.

Landsbro, i went the other way, i have photoshop cs2 , and downloaded inkscape, but don't have a plotter yet, lol. inkscape is a simple, yet quite good program. it has a tutorial in the program, which is necessary, as aixguy said, it's a learning curve making vector files, you virtually have to trace out where all the cuts are going to go.(as far as i can tell anyway, i haven't got right into it yet). don has a how to on the main page regarding plotters also. i guess those with plotters will chime in soon.

I have Corel Draw8, but I dont know if it will help . It is an older program (about 10 years old) I think Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator CS would be a better investment. The worst thing about these programs is the cost and they are out of date in a matter of a year, or two. Good luck.

Sorry to hear about your software problem kimmo. Hopefully you can get it taken care of without too many headaches involved...... I know for myself that if there is software, new component hardware, or new applications there's gonna be headaches and frustration. LOL
Best wishes for simple solutions to this challenge, so you can start using your new plotter soon.
