    Default doing some home work need help

    ok so i got some kbc helmets to paint on and they are both kinda fancy with all there decals on them cleared over the top of . so heres what im needing to find out. do i just sand down the surface over the decals as if they were part of the painting surface. or do i remove them. i do of course know that i cant go too deep with my sanding into the helmet lol . so all help is greatly appreciated.

    well i just seen a video with don talkin bout helmet prep and he said if the stickers are under the clear im in trouble ! is there any safe way to pull this one off just this once don lol .

    You can try using a water based primer/sealer after prepping the helmet.
    It shouldn't bit as hard as solvent based and should bury the sticker so you can paint over it without it coming back thru the new paint.
    At least that's the theory :-)

    thanks don i will definatly look more into that . i probably should have did home work before i got the helmets but i have been wanting to do a full helmet for a while lol.

    darkdaigler there are a couple of ways of doing this helmelt the clear thay use on helmets is not the clear we use on bikes ,cars or other pojects so scuff it with a red scotch pad then primer with epoxie primer then prep your primer then paint andclear
    you should use a flex addative in you clear
    the other way is sand off all the clear remove all stickers with rubber wheel on slow speed you have to be realy carefull not to dig into the plastic then primer sand reprimer than paint
