Default candy with sg 100 or into clear ?

    hi

i have a new order for a full bike job , the customer want the full bike in electric blue colour!
I plan to spray a silver base coat with blue candy over it!
I used to spray candy with sg100 because i usualy have some designs or something else to add. On this bike , the customer want just a blue colour !
in this case , is it better to mix the candy in sg100 or mix it in the clear coat ?
Is there something special to know when you spray candy in the clear ?
I just will have to add a silver strip on the full bike , so maybe i would save time and stuff by spraying the candy in the clear ?

    Any idea ?

    thaks

Hey now Pat. I hear what you are saying here. Issue is, that even if you spray the kandy in a clear, you will still have to spray a blank clear over that to be able to sand and buff the piece. If you dont, you will end up sanding into the kandy and that would be bad! I would use the SG as one, it is cheaper and you will only end up clearing over it in the long run and it will not buildup as much as regular clear. Thats not to say it wont work with regular clear, just does not seem to efficent and cost effective to me, unless there will never be any sanding or buffing on the piece.

If you are using a kandy concentrate,... I would add it to the SG100, not the clear. HOK has a urethane enamel kandy which is like a clear coat with kandy in it,... you just add hardener and reducer,... or they also have this product which I haven't tried yet,... but you might want to check it out. http://www.houseofkolor.com/news/MajesticKandy.jsp
