I'm using glass plus, it is glass cleaner without ammonia. it works quite well.

A good day is when you have wind in your face and bugs in your teeth.
thanks for the help but one more question
will the glass cleaner harm the airbrush on the inside after constant use??
I have heard that some glass cleaners with ammonia will harm the inside of the airbrush. But many posts here indicate using it. I use the Glass Plus because it contains no ammonia.

can i use rubbing alcohol??
the overspray from any type of alcholol will surprise you if it don't knock you flat on your behind but if you insist on using acholol at least try it outside to protect yourself

i have another questions about the createx paint.......
i've been trying to practice with createx paint but when i spray the paint...it kind of spits out from the airbrush...is it to thick or to thin....i've tried to reduce it but nothing seems to help...it works fine for a second or two but then it starts spraying when i let go of the trigger....????????????????????????????????????
hey crash, might be tip dry, or maybe there's a bit of build up inside the nozel, i get in there with a toothbrush, quite often i find specks right in the tip. i also blow through it with the compressor just to make sure. white createx is a realpain when it comes to tip dry, sometimes i'll take the tip off and pinch the tip dry off with my fingers, and put the tip back on, start spraying, and voila, the tip dry is back straight away, other times i can spray for a while without any trouble. probably comes down to how much it's reduced.
i've took the entire airbrush apart atleast 20 times in the past week.....and it still does the same thing....i have a .20mm nozzle on my airbrush....do i need to reduce the paint alot more....and if i use another type of paint like hok paint will it do the same thing or is it just the createx paint that makes a dry tip???
A couple of things;
First, for those using glass cleaners or the like for reducing their paints, I pose these questions.
Would you inhale the fumes or the cleaner?
Do you know what those would do to your sinuses, throat, lungs, liver, etc.?
Do you think it would be any better when you are mixing those cleaners with the paint?
Do you know what the cleaning agents and solvents will do to your paint for both the short and long term?
If the answer to any of these questions is "no", then that is what you should be telling yourself when you consider using those cleaners as reducers/thinners for paints. NO!
Zagor, I hate to break it to you, but tip dry is going to be a factor regardless of paint type or airbrush model, it's something we all learn to deal with. Some paints will create it faster than others, but it will happen with whatever you choose to use.
Try to reduce your paint to about the consistancy of milk for painting, you can't thin all paints to this, but the closer you can get to it, the easier your paint will spray, and at a lower pressure.
Always make sure your paint is well mixed and strained BEFORE you put it into your airbrush.
Always do a thorough cleaning on your brush at the end of each cleaning session, it doesn't take long to do, and it can let your brush live a long and happy life, and let you keep your sanity for a good bit longer.
NEVER use abrasives, ammonia, or ammonia based cleaners in or on your brush. Ammonia is an oxidizer to brass and to the chrome, and guess what your brush is made from? You got it, brass with a chrome plating!
Relax and have fun, but follow the instructions and wear proper protective gear, that's the only body you get!
