THe shelf life will vary with the storage conditions, and to a certain extent, the paint itself.
Using prime storage conditions, you should be able to expect up to 6 months of shelf life without any issues, maybe longer. Some colors or effects have much heavier pigments and materials, so they need to be shaken or mixed fairly often, otherwise you end up with a block of pigment growing harder and harder in the bottom of the bottle.
If you are just learning to airbrush, I would strongly suggest that you avoid the urethanes, laquers, and enamels for now Yes, you may use them in the future, but they are an expensive and possibly dangerous way to learn to paint. Start with something like Golden Airbrush Colors or ComArt paints.
These are waterbased acrylics that are a whole lot less expensive to learn with, and pose a lot less health and safety issues for you and your environment, especially while you are learning to airbrush. The Golden Airbrush Color is ready to spray right from the bottle, no reducing necessary, and while you should still wear protective gear, you won't need the big heavy mask or the plastic jumpsuit, much the hazmat teams to rescue you should things go wrong.
