    Default Acetone To Clean...

Hello, I'm getting ready to use 2K SPEED URETHANE CLEAR KC-210 for the first time and I'm wondering if anyone has used Acetone to clean the clear out of their airbrush?

hmm..i always use paint thinner,,there are some cheaper thinners
you can buy to use for cleaning,,acetone evaporates pretty fast
and can be to strong/tough on packings and such in the paintgun,

Yea, it is a strong cleaner. I don't want to pay the extra fee 35 dollars for shipping the KT-912 so I looked at the data sheet and the main ingredient is Acetone. I have half a quart on the shelf so I figured I'd ask.

If the brush is made to handle automotive paint acetone will not hurt it.
Acetone is sold as FAST laquer thinner.
Xylene is sold as medium thinner.
and MEK is sold as slow thinner.
But the paint guys dont tell u this cuz they want thier markup.

    Hope this helps.

I would look at the airbrush/spraygun's manufacturers instructions, and see if there are any incompatibilities with the use of any of the solvents. Many manufacturers made there sprayguns and airbrushes to handle enamels, and the packing in them can't handle the tougher solvents used with urethanes.
Xylene, laquer thinner, acetone, and MEK can destroy lots of rubbers and plastics in a hurry.
Do your homework for your particular brush or gun.
The milder you can get away with, the easier on you, your equipment, and your environment it is.

    Hi

Aceton can be used as cleaner , i use it when i don't have any cleaner. But it dry too fast finaly not clean as ush.
If one day you have to paint fiber glass or other composit stuff , you will have to spray first polyester filler , aceton is the thinner and also the cleaner you have to use for polyester primer.
