It's so quiet... shhhhhh!
Obviously I used a couple of old refrigerator compressors and hooked them up to an intake and and a pressure switch and a regulator. Take a look! I'm so proud of my baby.

Where did you get the pressure switch. I have been going to to this for ages but don't know where to get the swtich that will work properly. Don't want to spend $50 on the wrong thing and be out the cash with no compressor.
very cool!
I would love to see some building plans or steps to making one of these. A parts list would be awesome too.
I would like to create something like this for a 12 gal tank I have.
How much do you figure you have invested in this setup mnormington?
i think thats cool,,especially, when you work on something and than it works well,,,![]()
This is the switch I used on mine Doug. Not expensive and works like a champ.

You should always listen twice as much as you talk--that's why you have two ears and one mouth.
Not much really. I must have about $150 in it max. I kept going to Ace harware cuz it's in the heighborhood and every time I would leave with a hand full of fittings and stuff that cost $25 - $35. It always blew my mind. The compressors were free though so that's the secret.
I could put up plans for this one but you have to remember I'm relying on the safety (overpressure) thingy on my Wal-mart air tank for my safety valve. Also I think the compressor on the left is r12 and the one on the right is I know 134a. I want to find another 134a cuz the r12 one seems to run pretty hot. It must be made differently. At any rate just the one worked fine but I figured if one is fine then two is better since they won't have to work as hard.
This was a really fun project and it turns out it works so it saved me $3-400 and that, my friend, is waaaay cool!
Nice work mate, the plans would be kewl.
Looks like a sweet semi portable yet ultra quiet compressor.
She might be rough n rusty but she's all mine.

IT'S ALIVE, ALIVE!!!!!lol!
What a cool set up Norm. I'm not very mechanically inclined so to see you guys do this is cool as hell.
Nice job.

Not one but two compressors ... WOW. That's something Tim Allen on "Home improvement" would love to see...![]()

Someday I'll build one for myself..... As soon as I find a compressor...![]()
