hok paint ?
well i just bought the hok model paint to play with
i got blk., white, kosmos red, royal blue, yellow & green in 1 oz bottles
for $20.00 for the set
or $3.89 for each
went to wal mart
do i need to clean with paint thinner or ab cleanner
will the paint thinner i use to clean my ab with be bad for the o rings or brush
i will try it on an old car door
but i have to basse coat it first

No idea at all sorry Arizona,
I can honestly say that I have never seen these paints. But if they are "model" paints they would be more suited to plastic scale work rather than any auto or panel work.

I used lacquer thinner to get my ab clean. It was the only thing I found that would cut those KK by HOK paints. (I never tried alcohol)
I tried to use mineral spirits, but they wouldn't cut it. Although they did do a good job thinning it down to a good spray thickness.
The second time I used them, I thinned them with lacquer thinner. This was a good choice, they sprayed very nicely.
You cannot spray that indoors though. Unless of course you want to get high as a kite.
Don't try to thin it with water. Those paints don't mix with water. As I recall you use a gravity feed gun. Those paints will "float" on top of the water and you will spray almost straight water until it starts sputtering bits of paint here and there. (voice of experience)
At the end, I tore my ab completely down, removed all 0-rings and dropped all of the metal parts *that had paint on them* into a mayonase jar of lacquer thinner for about 3 minutes. After that I rinsed them in clean mineral spirits, then water. My ab came out looking like new.

There's a discussion on here somewhere about how the HOK model paints are not the same as traditional HOK paints, they are manufactured by someone else and are enamels.
As for tcpglobal they are nice but the prices are for already reduced HOK, I found a dealer on ebay that sells the same 2, 4, and 8oz bottles in unreduced for about the same price, making it much more economical that way.
