Hi all
I was wondering if you need to put a sealer on your work and if so what type of sealer do you use. (t-shirts, wood, etc.)
Is this a silly question?![]()

Some paints say for t-shirts you don't, but I find it only helps prolongs the life of the art work. Whether you use Aquaflow's top binder or Createx Clear, or even Coast Airbrushes Save-T it doesn't matter. It only helps. The biggest thing with T-Shirts is don't dry them in the dryer after washing.
For leathers a and illustration work I use Krylon Clear in the mat finish.
For automotive some sort of acrylic Clear Coat.

1.Acrylic Murals. I have tried Benjamin morre stay clear satin acrylic on big murals, the thing is you want to dillute it with some water and spray it very light a few times and let dry and then spray a light coats over the whole thing two or three times 1 hour in between is good too. To much to fast can be disasterous to the mural, also I only use it over acrylics.
2. On baseball helmets, vanity plates. Krylon Crystal Clear 10 minute dry works good.
3. On 50$-100$ baseball helmets, vanity plates. Krylon tripple thick crystal clear is good. Though it does take a while to dry, so I never give the product out the same day I cleared it with this stuff.
4. For Wood that has been primed, sealed and has acrylic ab Polyacrylic can work good. Though there are brands better suited for this type of work, it just depends on the budget.
5. For motorcycles there are several great products to choose from.
I can't say that any product works better than all the others, because I have not tried all the others. There will be several products to choose from for protecting all the different materials airbrushed so always run test of the products first before you have a disastor on a customer project.
