    Grex® Announces Genesis.XBi

Alhambra, CA —February 2, 2010—Grex® announces Genesis.XBi, an advanced double action trigger bottom siphon feed airbrush with a 0.5mm fluid nozzle.

The Genesis.XBi represents the latest in Grex innovation.
Equipped with our patent pending Quick-Pull™ handle, the user can conveniently perform nozzle flushing without removing the rear cap, yet still have the ability to take advantage of the pre-set adjustment knob.

The 0.5mm nozzle opening lets the user blast lots of paint, but the tapered design still lets you achieve extremely fine lines. Grex® topped it off with its patented Quick-Fit™ standard and crown needle caps for even more versatility.

“It is perfect for R/Cs, t-shirts, murals and multiple color applications” says Daniel Huynh, Director of Business Development. “Overall, the Genesis.XBi is a feature-packed airbrush. We believe two key features on the
Genesis.XBi -- Quick-Pull™ handle and Quick-Fit™ caps -- will make airbrushing more convenient.“Like it's predecessor, the Genesis.XB, this airbrush is designed for quick and painless color changes with its plug-in
siphon fed bottle. Not only does it provide greater ease for complex projects, but it also offers better line of sight and greater reservoir capacity.

Genesis.XBi airbrush, Quick-Fit ™Standard Needle Cap, Quick-Fit™ Crown Needle Cap, Bottom Siphon Assembly,
2-30ml (1 fl. oz) Bottles and Airbrush Carrying Case

    This is a nice brush!

Their new handle lets you clear the paint buildup on the needle like a cutaway handle would, but it keeps the balance of the airbrush intact. The cutaway handles tend to let airbrushes become a bit overbalanced towards the front end. I know Iwata has a three-way handle available for their brushes, but you loose the preset handle action you get with the normal Grex brushes or the Iwata Micron's.

Grex's needle cap is a two prong cap like similar to the Harder & Steenbeck Infinity in that it can swivel without loosening the needle cap itself, however the Grex cap uses a high quality magnetic insert on the cap to hold it onto the brush, this means that you can swivel the cap to whatever position you prefer and it will stay that way while you spray. No threads on the needle cap to cross-thread, and it leaves a smooth surface if you choose to paint without a needle cap on your brush. Kind of the perfect paint-picker cap.
You can put the needle cap right against the paper or work surface to get the finest line possible. They designed the prongs on the cap to be microscopically longer than the protruding needle, so you won't damage your needle, but you can still get the ultra fine lines. They introduced this cap on their Tritium line of brushes a few months back.

This brush will do very nice detail while still being able to handle the heavier paints and bigger spraying jobs most T-shirt artists, body art people, muralists, and cake artists would ever do, it will allow you to use the Fast-Blast caps and bottles on your paints, and the paint cups/reservoirs from almost any siphon feed airbrsuh (Olympos, Iwata, Paasche, Badger, Sata, etc.) so your choice of paint reservoirs is wide open.

This is a great airbrush. I got to test a prototype last year to give some feedback and it sprays awesome. Mine didn't have that new handle on it so I can't comment on that, but I'm pretty sure the rest stayed the same.
The only thing that was hard to get use to was the weight and the longer front end from tip to bottle. I use mostly Badger Anthems and vegas and they're much lighter and the tip is closer to the bottle, so I was hitting the shirt till I got use to it LOL. Gad I didn't bend the needle since there wasn't any replacements.
GREX makes a good solid airbrush and if and when the time comes I would add a few to my set-up, well when business picks up LOL
