Very sweet prize, looks like I will have to do a paint job on my bike so I can enter

I could soooo use that stand, I'll give it a shot .......

ahhh, the incentive i need to paint my bike. did my helmet, but didn't do progress pics!

ditto neder, it's enough to make the rest of us try harder, lol. if it would just stop raining i can start my bike! and even better, the guy next door wants me to do a demo pinup girl to see if i'm good enough for his bike!

well, here's my tank. i haven't done the final detailing cause i have to do the same pic on the other side, then a centre piece, so i'll post the final pic sometime next week, but this is pretty close to done. also hasn't been cleared yet. AA paint

i'll put these in a different post to the progress pics. these are the pics of the finished tank (and sidecovers) . the tank has just been 2pack clearcoated and is sitting in the sun to harden. these are a few different angles, hope you like.

From what I can see Midnight it looks really cool but bigger pics would help to get the full appreciation it deserves.

I agree with Neder on the pics Midnight.... but from what I can see, I too think it looks cool....

here is a tank i have been workin on i dont have clear coat pics yet but hopefully tomorrow or the next day i will i have never entered a contest before but that stand is to sweeet for me to not at least try plus its perfect for what im doin

All the tins were done but here is my submission. The tank is a tangerine candy shot over gold base then cleared. The guy was asking for eagle and flames. So I ended up doing a eagle on either side of the tank that I wanted to look like it was flying out of the tank through the flames. The background color really threw me off on this project and was very challenging. After sucking it up and following my lead and did a ghost flame (silver base then a tangerine candy and gold candy prayed over top) over the front of the tank that wrapped around the sides and around the eagle head and wing. The finished product is below with clear. I really am excited on how it turned out. When cleared the flamed took on a life of their own and so did the tank it's self. Hope you enjoy the pics as much as I enjoyed painting.

O.K. Here we go, I call this job "the fish tank"
The tank is base coated white.The colors used were all candy colors.

Does it have to be current work? I have some older stuff that I took in-progress photos of as I worked on it.

Well, I finally started again and doing my own helmet right now, learning auto air paint. If I can get it done in time I'll post it

GP, if you haven't used AA before and you are going to use mask or tape, just check for adhesion, i've had a few issues with the tape pulling the artwork off the job.

Okay, I should be done with the helmet I'm working on now next week and I will post it as soon as I'm done. It's progression pics are already up, so just need the finished piece.

Thanks Sabre, yes, I have already royally FUBAR'd the first attenpt to the point I had to start over from scratch but that is how we learn.

Hope that works. It's everything from concept to finished AB work.

I'm sorry Greger, i'm going to have to ask to have your entry excluded, it isn't fair for the rest of us!!!! mate that is awesome!! i won't ask how many hours went in to it, but i think the whole concept and artwork is brilliant!! well done.

LOL Well thank you Sabre, I think I put a couple hours into it at any rate. LOL It always seems like it takes longer than it actually does, as I can't AB every day, and some times don't get to AB at all in a week if work comes in. Just an hour or two at a time is the norm. I'm getting faster tho.

I here ya Greger....this angelina pic skin tone is driving me NUTS!! and just to make it harder, i have a throat infection and can't talk, let alone sing!! got till thusday to get over it....doesn't look good...

I was just looking for the Angelina Beowolf thread and couldn't find it.. Have you posted lately on your progress? I hope you'll get over the nasty throat infection post haste mate. Nothin worse than being sick and trying to accomplish the astounding results as you do. hope you'll feel better in time for your gig Dave.

Thanks Neder, I'm happy to finally have it done. But I keep thinking, well if I just do a little more work here and there on it, it'll be even better. LOL I'm trying to start something new soon so I can leave it alone. LOL

hey kicks, top job, the feathers look great, i hear they can be a bit tricky... nice colours too, what paint?

Sweet job Kicks the feathrs and dream catcher are great.

Kicks those are great effects that you used to attain all the textures, fabric, and cross stiching, etc. Turned out great.

I don't think I'll hold a candle to any of the artwork posted but, I happen to be painting a bike. So for the sake of competition and making the contest legal I'll toss mine in. I know I'll get one vote anyway (mine)! Good luck to all and props to all the lucky dogs that get to paint cool stuff on bikes

That's what I am gonna do. Nothing crazy, just getting my feet wet again. Done all with AA so far. Only thing left is clear and striping but that won't be done by the deadline.

One question for you AA guys? What can I use to wipe this down to remove any residue left from the tape before clearing?

GP, do you have any trouble with the AA paint lifting when you remove the tape? I'm forever pulling paint away with the pinstripe tape..

I did the first time I tried it. I had to start this project over again from scratch because of it. This time, no issues. I followed AA's setup guide to the T. It has to go on in very thin coats and given ample time to dry. if you use a heat gun or hair dryer to help cure each coat, don't go crazy, that was one of my mistakes the first time. It turned the silver into a rubbery-latex texture that peeled right up with the tape.
