Default Help! puttin it back togather! Iwata eclipse hp-cs

Ok..I feel soo stupid right now.. I haven't used my airbrush for almost a year now.. Im a sculptor and I sometimes use the airbrush to paint my sculptures when I cast them in resin..so.. I was painting one and it was spitting some and last time I used it I was afraid maybe I hadn't cleaned it out really good so I took it apart and cleaned everything and yes....some old dried paint was the problem... but now.. I cant get the dam thing to go back together! I have the tip and nozzle in fine.. and the trigger but its the part with the spring in it I cant get in.. I looked at the videos here but it was somewhat different than mine and I cant see them very well because they are so small .does anyone have a diagram of where each piece goes.. the sad thing Is I have done this before! yep..duh.. but that time I figured it out after awhile and then felt so stupid because it was something really dumb I was doing.. and cant remember what it was now.. sigh.. you know sometimes getting older isnt any fun! ( I'll be 50 in august)
so I guess Im having a pre-senior moment? lol its an iwata eclipse hp-cs I lv'e it and i guess I better use it more often! I have been using pure pigments on my sculptures when I have time to paint my own that is.. Im usually sculpting...
    thanks!

Hi Soltice, and welcome. What type ab do ya have ? You may have put the trigger in wrong, there is a little metal piece in mine, sits behind the trigger and is what makes the trigger pop back into forward position when ya take your finger off it. I'm not technical with terms, prolly should be if I want to help anyone, anyway, take the trigger out again, and try to reseat that lil piece behind it, you may just have it seated wrong. Hope this helps. Someone else will chime in with more info for ya soon, I'm sure. Just read your post again, and saw that ya have a Iwata eclipse.

Im searching ... but can someone double ck theirs. to make sure there is one?

ok.. after spending an hours looking all over the floors.. and taking it apart and trying to put it back together and trying to read the stupid iwata blow up diagram which is for 3 different brushes is its confusing.. I was just messing with the dam thing.. and .. I figured it out finally!!! ..no missing part.. the problem was I had that little thingy upside down.. the one that goes against the finger lever..I tried many times to turn it but it would catch.. even when i tried to turn it as I put it in.. I dont know what the heck I did but ti went it right and then finally that dam piece with the spring in it finally screwed into the dam thing.. you see it wouldnt before.. and if its sticking out you cant screw in the end piece.. and it looked like there was a ring missing.. in fact in one picture there is a ring there..!! but I looked at other parts and they had a large pic of mine and there was no ring.. so thats when i messed with it more.. I just feel like such a knot head ..I have done this 2x! only about once ever 2 years but still... lol so thanks for any suggestions. you were right kdsilverbrush.. thats exactly what it was...lol.. o well theres about 3 hours total waisted! thats what bugs me the most.. lol ok now bak to work!

Solticeart, always work over a contained area whenever you work on your airbrush. By a contained area, I mean something like a pan, or bowl, those cheap aluminum roasting pans you can get from the grocery store work great!

The contained area keeps your mess to a minimum, and it keeps all your parts in a small, controlled environment. No more having to worry or search for parts, real or imagined.

Also, get a schematic or exploded view of your airbrush, put it in a plasitc sleeve or laminate it, putting a cleaning process on the backside of the page will give you an easy guide to follow, and the drawing will help you to understand how and where things go.

Build a good cleaning kit for yourself, it will keep you from having to scrounge around for things when you need them most.
