    Default Badger 150 thread size

    Hi,

Could anyone tell me the thread size of the Badger 150 please?

I need to get an air hose so need the actual size.

    Thanks,

    Steve

Badger, like Paasche and a few others, use their own size and thread count on their hoses, it means you either get a quick connect so that you can use your brush on a hose for a Paasche, Iwata, Grex, H&S, etc., or you buy a Badger hose.

Your local Badger dealer should have the hoses in stock, if not, you can get them through Dixie, Dick Blick, Coast Airbrush, or any one of a dozen other vendors.

You might not believe it but a proper Badger hose in the UK costs $32, so I was just looking for a pattern part but wanted to make sure I asked for the right thread size.

I would definitely do some looking on line, but I would also take a serious look at getting a male quick-connect end for your brushes and a quick-connect fitting and hose (or two) for something more common like an Iwata. Because they use the same size hose as Olympos, Grex, Precision, Richpen, etc., it lets you purchase their hoses at a lower cost due to the mass production and marketing by all those companies. The male quick-connect fittings all use a 2mm male end, so you can use the Badger brushes on the same hose as you would a Grex, Iwata, Olympos, etc., and it lets you do a hot swap with your brushes. A hot swap is being able to switch out brushes without having to shut off the air flow to the hose.
The quick-connects also let your brushes and hoses live longer, because you no longer need to use spanners/wrenches or pliers to install or remove hoses from your brushes, you don't end up with mashed threads or fittings, and no rounded off surfaces from the spanner slipping. You can just leave the male ends on your brushes all the time, and the same with the other end remaining installed on the hose(s). Because they let you twist or swivel your airbrush freely Quick-connects also help you avoid getting your hoses twisted up into a knot.

Just thoughts from the cheap seats.

Thanks for the information, I'll have to take a troll through those vendors you stated beforehand for the quick disconnects, and then see if I can get the same stuff over here.

I beleive the male thread on the Badger air hose connection is an M5. (that's what the hose adaptors I've looked at say it is)

A quick look at one of my bookmarked suppliers (http://www.brunelhobbies.com.au/runw...ay13adapt.html) says it's an M5x0.45.

Not sure why an American company is using a metric thread though?
    But.....what if Google is wrong?
