Hello, I am Joyce from Illinois. I am pretty new at airbrush, but am learning by leaps and bounds in this forum. I have learned so much from the wonderful folks here on this site. I enjoy being a member of this forum and have not encountered a problem with airbrush that they have not helped me solve. This forum along with Airbrush Technique Magazine are totally priceless to me. I hope you enjoy being here as much as I do.

hey all - my "real" name is JoAnne, live in central Wisconsin, USA. Have had an airbrush for a couple of years now, but dont get much painting time with all the other "life gets in the way" kind of stuff - you know - shoveling snow in winter, cutting grass in summer, maintaining vehicles, etc. :P

Have to say a "BIG Thanks!" to Don for putting this great place together for us all!

Hey gang it's the Randyman here from BC. Canada. I used to do a lot of custom work in the 70's and early 80's but once I got on the bussiness end I lost interest. Anyhoo I think I turned a magic number or something because last yr. I bought a bike and started to see so many bikes in my area just waiting for a custom look. I'm no expert so be gentle. With the vast amounts of new paints out there I'm sure it's gonna take a while to get back into the swing of things. I look forward to speaking with everyone on here and picking you brains. You are all very talented.

Hey all, my name is Paul and I'm an Airbrushoholic. Just fooling around, anyways I live in Kentucky, did 10 years in the US Army and currently work with our great heroes , as a civilian, on a daily basis. Doodled with art my whole life, from Drawing to WoodBurning. I picked up airbrushing less than a year ago but haven't been able to do it as much as I like yet, kinda off and on and mostly on the weekends. I learned everything I know about airbrushing from this site and the great artists here. Thanks for letting me be part of the family ................Kwit

Hi Again to ALL. I'm Satch on the forum but my real name is Ed. I live in Odenton, Maryland but seem to have been spending a lot of time in San Diego since my daughter and son-in-law moved there. As a matter of fact I just got back and this is the first time I signed on in about 8 or 9 days. I was beginning to have withdrawl pains but now that I have my fix of AirBrush forum I'm starting to feel much better. I've only been air brushing since January so I'm still learning ... but the more I learn the more I like it and the more I want to paint. I'de like to say HELLO to everyone and especially to the people who I haven't said HELLO to yet. A special HELLO and THANK YOU to Don for keeping this all together.

Hello, my name is John and have been a member of this forum for a long time though I don't post as much as some. I live in southeastern Pennsylvania although I wish I still lived in New Mexico. It is good to see the recent influx of new members and the artwork that people have posted is amazing. I have a degree in Industrial Design and almost have my Engineering degree done. I started airbrushing in the mid 80's painting model kits and at my current job I paint a lot of prototype models of consumer products I have designed and worked on. I used to do product renderings using the airbrush and other media but the computer has taken over that role so besides the models at work I mostly airbrush as a hobby at home in my free time and do some side work every now and then. Hello to all the new members.

    Hello all!

My name is Tom, from north of Pittsburgh, PA. I've been ABing for less than a year (first time ever holding an airbrush was the end of May, 2006 @ the Carlisle Auto Show). Got hooked right away. Took a weekend seminar on ABing, opened up my own business, started doing Live Paint Demonstrations at auto and bike shows 2 weeks after class, and here I am today! I always joke about being a non-talent hack who never took an art class beyond 8th grade (but it's soooooo true). Good to know there's people here with mega talent and experiance to draw from and to share ideas with. If you ever need help or advice from a 2-bit-hacker, I'm your man, ask away!

    Talking Re: Introduce yourself please.

Hi to all you talented people - and I do mean everyone of you out there, expert or novice, you're all talented or you would'nt be messin' around in here!

I live in southern Spain where I just work the Holiday season crowd but also mess around and experiment off-season.

There's no greater buzz than seeing a kids (or adults) face when they pick up their finished T- blows me away every time.

Ive been at it for about 10 years now and I am amazed at how far I've progressed but better still, how far I still can go after seeing some of the work you guys produce!

My great love is cartoon work which I have now translated into T-shirt design and I love every minute of it (except when humidity strikes or 'opaque white' gunges up my AB right in the middle of a busy night!!)

I have to admit I've learned more from asking questions in the Forum than from any other source, you guys out there are terrific at quickly responding to problems!

    You've all been there right??

Anyway I guess you'll be just on the 'boredom' threshold right about now so see yah and remember -

Hi, My name is Terry and I'm from the east coast of Massachusetts. I've been painting and drawing and creating things for over 30 years but have only been airbrushing for about 1 1/2 years and I love it. I got started in this artform when my husband bought a new gas tank for his Harley and asked me what I could do with it. So I'm learning. Always looking to learn more and have fun. Oldie but newbie. Hello everyone. My name is Dianne not so young but certainly new to airbrushing. I living in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. You guys take my breath away (you know who you are ). You inspire and motivate and help! Thank you. I am attaching some of my first 4 weeks practice pieces up and hope to show alot of improvement in the next year. My mind is in baby step mode and I am trying to practice everyday. The colouring book pages took me by surprise. They truly point out so many things I need to learn before I can progress at all. Thanks Don.
And thanks to all for being there for us newbies. My practice pieces all had a purpose, practicing the on off and darts and lines. One is actually an idea for making a logo for my grandson. He is into Karting. Its supposed to be a T for his name and a K for his dads. I'll show it again if I can ever perfect it.

Thank you for your comments and thank you for not commenting on the first ones, the last 2 are the ones I actually took as my beginning lessons. The others were just letting loose with the gun after spending most of the days making the dots and loops and of course the darts. Its so frustrating when I know that I'll will never get past the hobby level but I'm going to try to be the best I can be. I will stop letting loose and get back to the practice. I'm lost right now but your input helps motivate me and the practice ideas are a big help. It's kind of embarassing for the pros to look at my efforts but I know the criticisim will help . Thanks again, Dianne

    Hey kids, one and all!

This is rowie, Shaun "rowie" Rowe, Melbourne, Australia. 40+ years old, very happily married with 2 slaves, sorry, I mean kids, we're the slaves.

Have done many things in this life, from underground mining engineer to Jackaroo, fitter, boilermaker, and christ knows what else.

Currently running a computer service and networking business here in Melbourne.

Honestly, I first picked up an airbrush over 10 years ago when I was brought back into the plastic scale modeling world, that lasted a few years and I honestly knew nothing else, I had no idea what else these "Airbrush's" were used for.
In 2001 I was given a Tamiya 1:10 stock class R/C car to play with, I was so crap at racing it was disgusting! but it was hella fun. Then I found out that I could use the old Airbrush to make some nice looking body shells.

Then back in November of 2006 I decided there had to be more to life and I hungered for something else to do, after a quick 3 day course and finding this forum I knew I had found the real purpose of the Airbrush and I was hooked for life!

Well as long as my eyesight and nerves hang together.
She might be rough n rusty but she's all mine.

Hi everyone, Kraig From Az (originally Minnesota for 40 so years). Just picked AB. Was in a car accident 5 yrs ago, left completely paraylized for a month and was told I would never walk again but as you see in the pic mind over matter does work. I'm a reason you shouldn't drink and drive. I just thank God I was the only one involved. Wake Up Call! I do have problems with the hands some but the word CAN'T isn't in my vocabulary. But enough about that. I am simple amazed at some of the work done by people on this site and if I can do it half as well I'll be ecstatic. Once again Hi and I enjoy looking at everyones work and hope to some day put a pic of my own online.

well finally i picked it up around a year ago but really didn't get serious about it until last November. I have moved and finally got a place to paint where i can do it and not get disturbed by my kids. Yes they are the love of my life but you always need some self time.
As Natalie said i felt the same way at the beginning, not sure if any of you were approachable but you all proved me wrong. you have been very helpful and very talented.

Don your Mag is great and so is this site.

Hi, my names Jim...........well thats the polite name that I 'occasionally' get called...........unfortunately only occasionally!
I live in Orkney off the northern tip of Scotland with my wife and two teenage monsters..........which probably partly explains my lack of hair
Been doodling with a pencil for as far back as I can remember but never could get the hang of painting with bristles. Then a few years ago bought my first airbrush and that was me hooked. Unfortunately, then had to leave the airbrush in it's box for a couple of years due to work. But back at it now and been playing about with the ab seriously for a just over a year, painting and finishing (mainly) guitars and really enjoying it.........think it must be an age thing.......all those curves and..........the rubbing down .......Ooops! giving way too much away now!

Anyway, great to be here amongst so much talent, been genuinely blown away by some of the work on show here (awesome)..........and on that note I'm going to finish up, before people start yawning and throwing things at me!

    Take care all,

Yep Diaz, I remember when Payson was so small, if ya went through it and sneezed, you would miss it LOL Left it a few years back, before it became booming, last time I visited it, the roads that I used to use goin up there were all closed ,and a big ole freeway was runnin up there, and the town had grown so big it was almost unrecognizeable. It's still a beautifull place, no place like the Mogillon Rim area
I'm sure not a Cowboys fan LOL

    Hi Everyone

I have done this already a few years back. But Im back again, this time im a subscriber. I finally got around to starting this journey towards my new career. My name is John and I live on the coast of Maine! My daytime job is painting houses. My hobbys are customizing Pontiac Fieros and drawing. Ive drawn quite a few cars with pencil and painted many pumpkins ( LOL) I have never used an airbrush before and just ordered the Badger 155 Anthem deluxe kit from Dixie.
Up here in Maine the winters are long, so I think Ill get to learning this fine art of airbrushing. Im going full force on the learning and praticing, I want to go pro some day! Wish me luck! John

Good Luck. I have been airbrushing 29 years and still want to go full time. location has a lot to do with it in my opinion. I do mostly t-shirts, but I am am looking to start on helmets and bikes soon. Maybe in Maine you can pick up more tourist work. I have heard good things about the Anthem. I use Iwata's and the Eclipse bottom feed is a very similar brush.

I was disabled at the beginning of the year due to an artery dissection which put a halt to my truck driving career and working a full time manual labor job is too much stress on my blood pressure and migraine headaches. so I am back concentrating on my airbrushing.

thanks. Luckely , I belong to an Antique Auto Club here and it seems that there is a need for airbrush work but not very many people around here do it. SO, Im in hopes that I can fill that position someday. I have been commisioned to do pencil art of their cars, so some of them do know my work. That may be my foot in the door.

I liked the badger from what I read on the reviews and the price was right where I needed it to be I cant wait to start!!! Sorry to hear about your health issus..hopefully you will feel better.

    Welcome to the family guys!

John, the 155 is a brilliant brush, the 3 stage needle is a piece of work for sure, it can take a lot of practice to get used to the fine control needed to get the best out of yourself and the brush, to be honest though, this makes you practice harder.

Airbrush Dreams, good luck with your health there mate, life changing moments like that can really take some getting used too

    Hi All,

I guess it's about time I introduced myself. I'm Shawn Fitzpatrick from Burlington Ontario Canada. I started ABing when my Mom gave me a brush about 10 yrs age that she hadn't had much luck with. I fumbled around with it and some masks for a while and stuffed it on a shelf. Well it called to me and I listened. I searched around for some help and soon found this site. All the information and skills I've acquired are a direct result of the people and information on this awesome web site. Thanks to all you inspiring people, you've changed my life!

    Hi all,

I've been a subscriber and airbrush artist for a couple of years now. This is my fist post to this forum. I've gotten a lot of ideas and motivation from airbrush artist magazine and airbrush technique over the last two years. Thanks to all that contribute and I do give credit to the artist's when I'm asked how I learned to do something.

Hi, my name is Joan and I live in the Middle Georgia area. I received an airbrush for Christmas about 30 yrs ago and it had the pressurized cans of air with it which is probably why I never had much success with it.

I am working with vinyl, engraving, and sandcraving now as a business and I want to add airbrushing. I just ordered the Passache VL based on comments I read on this forum. It hasn't arrived yet but I should be getting it any day.

I have a big 60 gal air compressor for the other jobs I do but I'm wondering if I should purchase a small one just for airbrushing. I don't know if I will have problems with the fittings to hook it up to my big one. Any suggestions?
If I buy a small one I would like to get a good one that is quiet. I thought I would see what some of the comments are on this site.

Hook up a separate regulator and filter then run a nice airline to your airbrush, you will be right as!

Hi everybody, I'm Luc from Ottawa, Canada. I'm fairly new at a "art" airbrushing. I've been doing military modeling for a while and my experience was limited to painting camouflage paterns basically. Over the holidays I thought I'd take a shot at painting my goalie mask. So I got some Auto-Air pain and some some stencil and voila! I'm hooked. So here's my first crak at it
