Hi everyone, i thought i'd share this with you, it seems to be working well. I needed to put together a portfolio of pictures of my artwork, instead of trying to show people on my mobile phone.
First, i went to a few stores to see how much it would cost for a folder. I ended up getting a heap of these booklets, they werwe on special for $4.99 each, so i grabbed a few, they are 6 x 4 photo size, and hold 100 pics.
next, i went to the local newsagent, they have a photo machine that prints out any size photos , i took in my flashdrive with the pics, plugged it in, and printed out the pics, 12 cents each.
Next was to put the pics in, i did them in various orders of pics, depending on where i was going to leave them. i had already asked around at panel shops, paint shops, etc to see who wouldn't mind having a small booklet of pics on their counter, most were quite happy, and were actually impressed with what i had done.
After the pics were sorted, i cut a stencil for the front cover, with my business name, and then in the inside cover, i printed 6 x 4 pages of my details, what i do, and how to contact me.
I have 5 in shops at the moment, have to do up some more when i get the time. When i have painted a few more pics, i add them to the portfoliio i have here at home, then take it to the shop and swap it over with the old one, and have a chat to see if there is any interest. i'm getting plenty of people having a look through, and they are impressed, but i now have to bite the bullet and go to spray shops, etc to drum up interest.
i'm generating some work, so it is working for me, just got to narrow down my areas. hope this is of interest and helps anyone thinking about doing something like this. the size of it is a plus, it takes up very little room, but catches the eye of people very easily
ps, anyone wants to add ideas to this please do, it all helps in the long run!
