what air pressure are you using?,and do you have a detail airbrush, actually your not far off. put in more detail and a little color correction and you will have it just don't give up portraits are the most rewarding and frustrating thing to do, because no two color will work the same on any two portraits, it trial and error the whole way. As you get better less trial and less error. I have a book that will get you start on flesh tones.I gave the name to one of my freinds here let me look for it again and i will give you the name. But the more you do it your eyes will automatic start seeing more detail and color, so your very close, continue on and don't be scared that you will mess up. you should have seen some of my first tries! check out my photo's I maybe able to help with your color mixing if you like. keep going with that portrait, press further you almost got it!!

thanks guys! it is fun to watch her come alive so to speak. Airstorm, I'm running about 50 psi, using Aeroflash transperant paints and an iwata cm-sb. I really really need to work on color matching. it's one of the hardest things for me. allot of the times I seem to go toward the red'ish hues. anyways. the path I'm working towards is photorealistic fantasy art. like Boris Vellejo, Lois Royo but more photo realistic, if possable.

I for got to say about your air pressure try turning it down to 35 psi from 50psi use extender to make your paint a little more transparent and build your colores up slow. if you have a detail airbrush you can get away 20psi and work slow don't try to speed up the process, and you will do fine!, you already got a great start. Thats all i wanted to say, take care!

Looking real good cromz excellent first real attempt. The only thing I noticed with it is the nostrils are a little off. They should be more straight across from one another.Keep going with it though, that is a great painting and would be a sellable peice.

I'm liking it, cause my last try at the same thing didn't turn out nearly as nice! LOL This kind of work is truly a labor of love with a lot of time and patience involved.
    Great work cromz

    Cromz,
That turned out very good!!!! That is the hardest type of painting
to do. I have some Walter Foster books on all types of drawing, and
they are great books to have. Their prices are good too. I hope
to see more portraits from you.

Look were you are going, not were you have been!
