    Default New to spray tats

My daughter wants me to do spray tats at her 16th birthday party (looking into renting a location and inviting 50-100 kids). I don't have a lot of $$ to invest in this so I want to be sure to buy the right stuff to start with. Which brand of paint do you recommend? I plan to let my daughter and her friends pick out the stencils but I would welcome suggestions on what the most popular stencils are. Thanks.

Ok Crystal tempt tatts are right up my street I do five music festivals and paryts for all ages. Ok here we go.Su Do, ASA, Temtu, all make good ink/paint for temp tatts I myself use ASA. Right things needed, rubbing alcohol 70% not stronger, tatt ink/paint cottonwool, 3m spray glue, spray your stencils with glue and let them dry. To start clean the skin with the alcohol to remove skin oil, place your stencil firmly on the skin covering it with your hand and pressing slightly so that the warmth from your hand helps the glue to stick a bit. Spray your ink/paint straight towards your stencil not at angles so there is no under spray, peel off the stencil carefuly and clean the overspray around the tatt with alcohol. And that,s it. If done corectly the tatt should stay for 7 to 10 days depending on how much oil the skin produses if people wish to remove them then a good rub with soap & water and a flanel. If for any reason the tatt is not good then you can clean it off with the alcohol and start again. I myself use a 0.4mm needle but if you have anything bigger then that would do fine you have to remember that the ink/paint is quite thick so flush you airbrush after each tatt and watch out for tip dry as it happens quite quickly. I hope this is of some help if you need to know anything else then pm me and I will see what I can do.

Thank you for the step by step directions. Do you have a website for the ASA paints; I couldn't find them online. Her party is not till April so I should have plenty of time to practice. I lost my airbrush in a house fire 2 years ago so it's been awhile since I airbrushed. I ordered a paasche vl with the 3 needles/tips since I mostly for my children (clothing, accessories, wall murals etc) . It should work for tats too, right?

The Paasche should work fine for tats, crystal, a couple things I would add to Neders post, baby powder works good for setting the paint after you remove the stencil. You can just sprinkle some on and blow the excess off with your airbrush. As far as popular stencils, you've got to have some skull designs, for boys and girls. Another great one is chinese characters. Write the meanings down and the kids will get to talk about what there tat means (for all they know it could mean something completely different, lol.....unless they're chinese)

I wouldnt mind checking out this ASA link myself as it is time for me to stock up. In the past I have used Temptu and it worked great.

Crystal & Cotto I have to apologize to you both I am so stupid. The ink/paint that I referred to is actually the house make of an online shop where I sometimes buy my paint, Airbrush Services Almere, hence ASA once again please accept my apologies . Cotto thank you also for mentioning the talc powder I completely forgot about that. And you are right Temptu is a good ink/paint. Crystal here are a couple of pics of the last street festival where I was spraying just to give you an idea of how they look.
