    Default Silver leaf flame bike

Hey now folks. Just finished a fun little project that combined a bunch of different techniques. Simple flame patterned panels, done in silver leaf, with green kandie and finally a thin orange pinstripe.
For a quickie the client and I really like it.

Pic 1-Pattern taped, masked and sized for silver leaf.
2&3 - leaf layed in pattern
    4 - Partially cleaned
5 - totally cleaned with drop shadow sprayed
6 - After lots of green kandie
7 - Cleared, sanded and then pinstriped
8 - Cleared again, but before sand and buff
9 - Close up of same

    Pat,
That is beautiful!!!!!!! Using leaf for flames is something
people just don't do enough of. You could have burnished it,
pattern burnished it, almost unlimited before the candy coats.
But the cool thing is you laid the leaf super smooth. The green is beautiful!!!
You did a super job pinstriping it also. For me outlining is always a pain.
You rocked at it all Pat!!!!!!!

One question??? What kind of size did you use????? Did you brush it
or spray it in masked area?????? Is it water based or oil based?????
It is smooth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would love to see more of your leafing!!

    Paint on!!!

    Great job Pat

Leaf is fun to work with I use it on some of the race helmets I've been doing.

Hey Fresno. Thanks man. My first thought was to do the machine turned look but the customer wanted the cracked uneven look. I have always liked striping and dont get a chance to do it very much lately, so its always fun to get a chance to see if I have lost the touch! As for the sizing, I will have to check on the brand. I dont remember. It was applied with a brush.
    Thanks for the kind words.
