    Default Rav4 Hood

Thought it was time to try something new. I've been putzing around with some pinstriping brushes and bought a Buegler tool awhile back and today it was just to nice so I decided to do the hood of the Rav4. Now, I've tried this design practicing and it just didn't come out the way I wanted so I played to a strength of mine..... I cheated!!! I vectorized the photo and cut it out in vinyl. The Buegler was used to do the two strips along the hood lines. It was easy on the left side but took 4 attempts on the right to get it even close to what was on the left. Just couldn't get my body in the right position!

The design in the middle of the hood was super easy with the vinyl and has the brush stokes in it.... all in all I'm happy with how it came out.... wish I had a steady hand like some of you guys and gals..... maybe in time.

Next up is the sides of the Rav4 and I'll use the Buegler for all of that but the Rav4 really needs washed first.

    Cliff,
That is way nice!!!!!!!!!! That is a clean and simple design!!!
You managed to get a design on your hood! Cool!! Maybe combine
when you practice some brush, some Beugler, and some Vector too.
I was at a Mickey Harris airbrush class a few years back and he demoed
a stencil type design and when he was done it was just like it was brushed,
even though he airbrushed the design. It really doesn't matter as long as you like it, and the end result is a combination of applications. That is a clean
looking design I would keep on my car!!!

Thanks guys for the comments. You will be seeing more of the Rav4 this spring as I use it as a practice piece and rolling advertising for my airbrushing..... My hopes are to come up with a kick ass design for the wheel cover and use the plotter to make a vinyl sign advertising my airbrushing for the back window right next to the wheel cover.
