Thread: ABT #21

With #20 on the press it's time to start on issue #21.

Anyone with an article they would like published or picture of their art work for the readers gallery please get them to me ASP.

You can post pictures for the readers gallery in this thread.

OK Don, this is the first time I feel like my work may actually be worthy of your magazine, so here is something for the reader's gallery I would like to submit. Thanks for your support, Cindy

Maybe this will end up somewhere, it's an Xbox 360 I painted for a guy:

It's not AB work, but a great picture of me and my mentor, Richard Markham with Issue # 19. Ran into him somewhere near Cape Cod, Mass last winter. We were both in Mass doing Custom Paint Demonstrations for the colleges we work for.

Don, I don't know what to say. of all the years I have been an artist, and all the "rejection" letters I have gotten from galleries that said my work was exceptional, but not enough,,,,,,this was totally unexpected. Thank you Don :-)

Thank you my brother. In fact, I believe he was a collie. His name was 7 ton. Our mechanics named him after our big 7 ton trucks because he was such a thick puppy. We adopted alot of strays in Iraq and would hand them over to the next unit coming in. We werent supposed to but who can resist a face like that. They were great to have around the camp and awesome for morale. I have 3 Australian Shepherds here at the house.

The cover looks amazing! Super job Don, and I love the airbushes in the layout too.

Looking at the list of topics and how to's in the next magazine looks very interesting looking forward to recieving this one... I inadvertantly gave my 20th issue away when visiting Bali... the local artist took a shine to the articles and I found it hard to say can I have it back lol... so I will hide this one away.

has issue 21 been sent out ? if it has i havent recived it yet, do the issues usually go out around the same time of the month of issue?

I Just wanted to say that it's been Airbrush Techniques and Airbrush Artist Magazines that have kept me painting. I can't thank you enough for being their for us that really need you and your staff. If it wasn't for the other artist that are so willing to share their work and how to's a guy like me would have given up along time ago. I can't wait for the next issue the cover of #21 looks great and I can't wait to get it. If anyone out there can't decide to subscribe or not, do your self a favor and subscribe. By the way Don's a great guy, answers the phone himself.

^ Is there a reason for not having advertisers in the magazine... sure they can be a pain in the butt as they can sometimes over run a magazine but they are also a great way for those who live thousands of miles away from civilisation and have no real idea of what and were to get it apart from this fantastic forum

You are going to love the Hard copy comming your way. Thanks Don another great issue. I got the digital too, now I have it available no matter where I go wich is cool for showing off to others.

As far as the advertising goes, I know it is something to be able to brag about not having too pages of advertising. Some mags are overfilled and sell out completeley with the adds(sucks for the reader trying to pick up an issue full of info to get better). I think a few more adds wouldn't hurt as long as we still get the jamm packed awesome mags that we get. With all the cool things Don does he may have something in the works about that, who knows, he reminds me of a mad scientist always at work on creating something(LOL). I am sure he will let us know if there are ever any changes.

Maybe some external flyers with the the mag might work. Like the newspapers do.

I can see where you,r coming from Brad, and I would understand if there were more ads in the mag. But I have to thank Don and the rest of ABT crew for creating the digital mag cause now I get to see what I have been missing over the last six months or so.

Yay got my mag early this week loads of great how to's I am now starting to think I am now understanding how this stuff works I like the how to's that tell us what types of paint and colours that they use - this is a geat help to us newbies.

I can only imagine the amount of work and time that is put into producing a magazine that has accurate information.

I am thinking I might have to invest more money in some back issue.

Keep up the great effort but don't forget about taking some time out for yourselves as well.
